Sacramento, CA
This design-build project consists of a new two-story, 30,000-sq ft science building construction project with chemistry and biology classrooms, an outdoor learning area and collaboration space.
Lionakis was the architect for the original campus built in 1961 and now this will be the first major project on the Mira Loma campus since that time. A new "signature project" for faculty and students to enjoy for years to come.
The new two-story building includes white steel casework in the Labs, giving the new space a sense of a biotechnology workplace than a high school science lab. A large Flex Room with moveable furnishings provides a home for the Olympiad Team and other student organizations and offers the flexibility for impromptu and collaborative-based learning.
